Warhol at The Dalí

Even with its stunning architecture and exclusive collection of Salvador Dalí’s work, The Dalí Museum was experiencing attendance levels of historic lows. With a special exhibition of Andy Warhol’s work on the horizon, the museum wanted to really make a splash. So we developed an integrated marketing strategy and campaign that explored what would happen if the two artists collaborated today. A diverse collection of targeted placements and a lot of paint drove record attendance and sales.

With the video spot, we created a story of Dalí getting the Warhol treatment and carried that through to the exhibition materials and advertising. The layouts were bold and colorful to both connect to Warhol’s style and stand out.

Given the museum’s close proximity to the Tampa International Airport, we placed ads in tickets and at baggage claim.

In the first 2 months in market, the campaign resulted in a 44% increase in museum traffic and a 53% increase in unique visitors to The Dalí Museum website.
